Selfish?

 
For all the selfless things you ever do
There will be a vocal few
Who say you do things to look good
They cut you down without knowing you

So it goes in things every day
The jealous ones will have their say
If you’re in love they say it’s a lie
And cut you down without knowing why

They are the unhappy ones
Can’t have it all with anyone
And if they see it there inside your life
Within their own they can't make it right

Within those lives you will always be
The enemy
Within their eyes they will always see
The enemy

If you give to charity it’s for your tax
If you get sick it’s to relax
If you smile it's since you are a fool
It’s all because they can’t be you

So what are you supposed to do?
If they happen just to get to you
Ignore the fools and you’ll be alright
Just grab your love and hold them tight

Within your life they will always be
