Father's Day Email
Last week
when I was building
the 'gas bottle house' in Granada,
I thought of my father at that moment
and tried my best to emanate
his work.
I found it easier to build
when I remembered
how he had taught me
to lay bricks even though
they were 'Spanish' not the 'London Brick Company Reds'
he was used to.

I wish I could take credit for this one, but I can't. My father sent me an email on Father's day and I like it so much that I edited it slightly and made it into a poem. So these are his words, not mine (and he's not a poet that I know of, until now perhaps). Maybe it has great significance for me because of the personal nature, but I genuinely think it has poetic merit, even if unintentional.

but you were able to see the poetry in it. That should count for something. Now your father will be immortalized as long as DUP does not crash. Itīs also a cheap fatherīs day gift.
