Resurrection
In the silence I felt the sun warm my face
the dance of leaves in the blessed breeze
freed the weight of pain in my heart
and in its eternal grace I willingly embraced
the love I so longed for
Through the trees I wandered along
with no set path I followed the song inside my soul
that forever searched for the melody
to make me feel like I belonged
Was I wrong for leaving behind the life I lived?
Will I be strong enough to accept my own gifts?
With eyes set towards the distance before me
I now see the way and to my relief
I feel the power of my own truth
the rebirth of belief seeping into my spirit
it was hidden in the oppression of my youth
Into the sunrise I meet the light
the past laid to rest behind me
the future beckoning my newfound strengths to rise...
and so it is here..
It is here that I'm alive

Re-routing our minds to rewrite the maps takes courage and determination. It rattles us to be able to get back to the core. Once you know, you can't not grow.
The dark forest of the mind isn't forced but slips out in what you painted and felt alot like Led Zeppelin's Bron-y-aur stomp over a Neil Gaiman scene. I always thought parallels between emotional chambers and images were the avenues where the subconscious can dance and play with the newness until it finds its place. Hence metaphor for me was always more than wordplay, but word magic. There's something sacred to create when you make the Dark Forest that everyone has into something positive and an illuminating place like the cave scene in Empire. That's what makes what we do sentence medicine. That's what let's you take the name of a God for your nom de plume and nobody challenges you on it. That's strong channelling.
Whenever a hook really sinks in and the audience is taken by your scene... And then you lead that past a pregnant pause like leaping a precipice a la Aladdin, that makes your stanza hypnotic. This was really well delivered with
