Our Religious Inheritance
Our cultural Christianity has become Meaningless
Don`t think about it
God is all forgiving
Lukewarm morning piss has our beliefs became
We make fun of vicars
Other denominations laugh at our religion
Try telling a joke about an Imam
Or for that matter a Rabbi
You will be called an anti this and that.
There is a vacuum and into it, Islam has stepped
People need religion
To worship to a hard power
It is a mystery why
But to stop this Muslim faith we have to build
A wall of Christianity
And be forceful and demanding
If not the Shari law awaits

Why not build a wall of Love instead? Aren't there enough walls of differing religions, e.g. - Christianity, Buddhism, Muslim, Judaism, etc. etc. etc. If Christians build a wall to keep Muslims out then Jews need to build a wall to keep Christians out then Buddhists need to build a wall to keep Jews out and so on, and so on...
Love and unity is what we need against any form of tyranny stemming from any form of religion. It's simple, really.

Echo Ahvati - sorry I have to disagree with Berlin Wall-type sentiment. However, I do agree as a Christian that sections of Christianity have watered themselves so down as to make it insipid and that those who do warn against negative aspects of Islam get easily accused of xenophobia. (Equivalent in politics to right-wing but non-fascist politicians warning about dangers of Communism who were easily accused of self-interest ie their own money.)
What I understand of Jesus' teaching (eg Sermon on the Mount) is that he did not encourage his followers to hate or kill those who disagreed with them - his approach, whether or not that would have cost him his life, would have been to talk with them. (The gospels recall some of his dialogue with Jewish religious leaders, admittedly not always with him finding agreement from them.)
Note there are some Rabbis who take other's humour in their stride and are not averse to being laughed with. For example, Lionel Blue (British) who his shared his insights into humour within his community and whose cheery face I easily remember from tv.
My 'like' to this poem is not to ALL of it.
