That always has impressed me as one of the ego-tricks of the positive thinking trade that comes down a reinforcement of the basic selfishness that is at the root of our 'suffering'. I know I don't 'need' anybody. I love myself thoroughly. But illusion is at play here, & if one 'believes' the "either/or", & "this or That" as some entity of Reality, we've then promoted ourselves to the dangerous realm of delusion, which has indeed become the karma of the evolution of our collective consciousness into the sorry state of collective self-destruction that we live in everyday, & have little choice but to 'participate' in to one degree or another, while saying "Oh, that's not me!", & Sam&Sara keep spinnin thee dizzying, hypnotic wheel..............so sayeth my damaged brain....i'magine that, m'love!
Okay, for me, I'm oblivious to need unless I'm actually involved with someone - then the illusion of separation creeps into my reality and I seem to lose focus on why I'm here. Seriously, when I'm alone I am completely content. I am happy going about my own business and never feel alone. The Universe meets my every need, whether emotional, spiritual, or financial, and am totally focused on my directive. It's simply the point I've reached by trusting it, and enjoying the freedom of me. I didn't mean to sound flippant or insensitive to your feelings. It's honestly my experience.
