Plateau

One day,
If generations after us treat the planet
with respect
When people have a eureka moment,
An epiphany, a kinda revelation,
you can call it godlike or scientific.

Maybe when we reach that intelligent
Plateau with the realisation that we don't
have to kill in the name of whomever or
whatever and just live our lives as intended.

More the thoughts right now for many to
be mindful of the (next) life to the point
of not caring for this one

What's so wrong with the life to live right
now that people choose to finish theirs,
In doing so taking as many with them as
Possible in the name of someone no one
has as yet clapped eyes upon.

We're still climbing
but the Earth will choke and splutter
long before any such happy plateau
finding a vast majority of us still clinging
on to our faiths as we take our final breaths.
