CRACKING THE SHELL
I saw a crow drop a walnut
Or rather push it off its perch
The power line
It landed in front of me
I avoided it noticing in my rear view
The vehicle behind me almost crushing it
I wondered is this how we appear
To other beings with a window
Into our world-
Crows finding safe places
To drop walnuts
In the path of makeshift crushers?
Is this how our plans look
To other travelers to whom we pray:
Please accidentally assist us?

Thank you whale. It feels like it matters how accidental it is, doesn't it? We want to feel meaningful, part of a grand plan. Of course, if we are crows that's not the worst thing in the universe.
