Games Our People Play and Harsh Critique (Two relevant short poems combined)

Games Our People Play

Collectively speaking
Our pursuit of money and property
A glorified version of Monopoly played sloppily
Anything worth obtaining
Can be taken easily
By the greedy uncaring people
Playing the same insane game
We thought we were winning
By choosing not to enter a pewter piece
I’m keeping my sanity

"Harsh Critique"

My verses make the closed minded wish they could itch their brain-stem because
The masses fail to comprehend and act as if
They’ve been infected by some chemical agent
Another consequence of Mind Body Spirit Independence and
The endowment to express
The ongoing photosynthesis
Minus Religious Affiliation
Social Awareness is useless
When promoted to a public not interested
In any subject other than fulfillment of vices or
The latest gadgets
Created to perpetuate a World Conscious
Connected by force fed computer generated images
Meant to deaden your senses
While the same companies that sell and advertise them
Rape the planet of its natural resources for the
Three Percent’s long term benefits
Don’t make the rich
Then question the growing distance
