This Woman That Raised Me

Today, I was with the most beautiful woman I know
The woman that raised me, I was one of eleven
She wasn't as happy as she usually is, but still happy
Tired, too tired to walk, didn't pitch a fit when I asked,
If she wanted a wheelchair, this time she excepted the ride
Ran into a friend, told her I was pushing the elderly,
We all laughed, she's always been a good sport
For me, today was different, I noticed her pain,
She's never showed it before, broke some bones,
Needed screws some pins and a few rods to fix them
Never showing her pain or any fear always strong,
But today, today was different, her eye's were sad,
Her voice softer then usual, answering questions,
With little talk, not herself today, but still happy to get out
This woman that raised me, held my hand, hugged me,
Watched me walk to the top of the hill to get to school,
Made me comfortable, whenever I was sad or overwhelmed,
This woman never slowed down, until today,
today was different,
And all I wanted to do, hold her hand, hug her,
Watch her walk, make her comfortable, take her pain,
And tell her how much she means to me and how I love her so
