a prose poem
I will trade warmth for safety
this nothing for a better nothing
a less painful nothing
where forgiveness is no longer
an option and mistakes
aren't possible

It is cryptic and I enjoy that quality because it compels the reader, at least this one, to apply the message to one's own life experience.

You will trade warmth for safety ...
Isn't safety a warm feeling?
Umm, I read this poem various times and every time I sink deeper into its depths. It's really special.

hmm, thought provoking question.
i suppose it is for the most part, but safety in this context could also be looked at as stability...and warmth as something temporary. If that makes sense.
..feel like it's an honor to have something of mine be read more than once
thank you for taking an interest..and the add ^~^

If we weren't interested in other poet's poems for what would we be here then? I like to read deep stuff. And yours is deep :-).

A very solid pondering of the mind
these words do invoke, that's one of the main ingredients which makes for a good writer of pretty much anything especially poetry! :)

Re. a prose poem
This is a little gem from start to finish.
If I were to attempt to improve it, the only thing that I personally would change is the line breaks in the last 3 lines, but that is my own personal taste and you and others may not see/hear it as I do...it is your write after all :-)

ah, yes...line breaks, i'd definitely play around with them if i ever muster up the courage to read this poem again(i have a difficult time reading what i've written after it's wrote)
but thanks for the constructiveness!
..hope to use it some day ^-^

Certainty is a good thing. Sometimes we have to make choices to get the certainty we desire. I take it you've learned from the past. That is what I got from this poem.

Re. a prose poem
I'm thinking wine, sugar, oil...
You say very little... sharp, acute, baritone
But you expose the reader's imagination to a barrage of emotions and meanings...
Betrayal, captive, freedom...
Awesome photo! A perfect accompaniment to your excellent poem.
