Change Like The Seasons

- Change Like The Seasons -

I want to laugh, to love, to dream so vibrantly…
But as the tides ebb and flow, my dreams fade.
Into the firefly-bedecked night of simpler times,
So many answers lie, but I lack the old wisdom.
Changes come to the land, and often violently…
Lacking good guidance, or the strength of jade.
People have lost the truth far between the lines,
As chaos comes to claim the heavenly kingdom!

Yet all things balance out in universal harmony…
If we keep a tiger’s courage: and be not afraid.
Look into the self, for there are the gilded signs,
That point to the dragon, that lies hidden within.
As the crickets do sing in the eve so pleasantly…
They sing of the night’s queen, the silvery maid.
She pounds the rice of the day, in new designs,
Until dawn is fashioned new, cleansed of all sin!

My place in the universe is set by solid destiny…
Even as leaves return: to the trees of each glade.
I am humbled by quiet visions, by sights sublime,
The simple changing: of each spectacular season.
They are finer things that change but gracefully…
Leaving no destruction to mark what they made.
So let change come like the spring’s very rhyme,
Melting the cold in every heart, for better reason!
