Image for the poem Terror Incognita

Terror Incognita

Silhouettes on the shade, shadows on the wall
The sound of voices chanting at the dark end of the hall
A sheep expecting wolves, a sense of growing dread
A lover's words of comfort are somehow left unsaid

Appointments to be kept, not quite Paradise
A doctor proud and gushing over his rusted device
The prognosis is unknown, requiring one more test
He struggles to remember the day he last confessed.
