THE BLIND DATE (from Crucibles of Passion)

The men have arrived in Naples, Italy, and almost immediately begin to act like prankster schoolboys beset by burgeoning hormones:

One of the first remarks from Pete after we got off the ship and checked into a nearby hotel was, Everybody game for a little exercising in the park?

We like to keep ourselves in shape, Mike said.

I thought he sure could use some exercise. He  tended toward the heavy side. His body still bulged with baby fat, especially around his cheeks, even though his voice was manly and business-like. In fact Mike looked like a big fat baby blown up to adult size, sandy hair, new-born thin.

We left the hotel and started walking towards a small plaza visible several streets away. As we came closer I saw that within the plaza was a small park . The autumn sun was leaving the main benches along the pathway, causing the sitters to rise and gather around a nearby fountain, the last bastion of the sun.

Wending our way along the deserted path, Mike suddenly grabbed Pete's arm and said in a loud whisper, Oh my God! Oh dear Jesus! She's here! and pointed to a young woman seated on one of the benches at the far end of the path. He put a Shush!-finger to his lips and led us down the path and to a bench opposite the woman. He plunged both hands downward in a quick suspended gesture like a musical conductor commanding soft notes, for us to sit down quietly. Several shrubs and trees screened this area from the burbling fountain. Yet one long sword of sun still pierced through right into the woman's face whose eyes were closed and mouth gaped to receive the sharp shining blade.

I was totally confused by what was happeing, but assumed the men were surprising a friend.

The breeze was beating flecks of shadows against her face: reflections of broken twigs , dust particles and crumbled leaves which were slowly transforming her expression into a beatific smile. With her dark hair woven into a bun at the top of her head and her feet primly together, she looked like an East Indian princess meditating in front of a temple--except for what I then noticed:  a white cane across her lap.

I turned towards the men, then something made me turn quickly away. It was my senses denying the reality of what I just saw. The men had their dicks out and were pulling on them as they looked at the woman.

I felt myself frozen there, transfixed, unable to do anything but direct my gaze at the woman  whose now opened sunken eyes stared so blankly yet piercingly I wondered if she were sensing what was happening right in front of her.

At one point a breeze lifted her skirt and flashed a thigh which instantly stippled in goose bumps. I felt a brief pull at my groin like when an elevator plunges.

Out of the corner of my eyes I saw Pete daubing around the top of his dick with tissue as if he were elegantly extracting a flower off a tall stem. I met the men's nods of encouragement for me to join in.

I looked at the woman again . The sun had shifted onto her hair and was arrowing bright beams into it, causing the strands to appear thin as gossamer. Her expression seemed so knowing, that soft smile so confounding, I was almost certain she was aware of what was happening and would shortly inform the police.

Then I heard her clear her throat and saw her touch her cane. She rose and my heart lunged. She swished her cane, her free hand extending slightly in front of her. She was approaching us at an angle, her cane a reproachful scratching, it seemed, But this only caused the men to beat their dicks more furiously.  Pip even rose, dropped his pants and mooned her most lewdly as she turned and walked down the path towards a sunnier bench. In its warm light she sat down.

We were all standing, looking off towards the woman. When I turned back towards the men they gave me sullen stares. I turned again in the direction of the woman and executed a quick squat and squeeze of my crotch. The men smiled approvingly, and we began walking back along the path and out of the park.

If you don't USE, you LOSE, Pip said. Take it out next time and exercise 'er, he added.

Don't feel bad ole chap, Mike said.to me. We always have a little meeting with that blind girl. A kind of blind date waiting for us here in Naples. Ha ha ha.

She never fails us, Pete said. We tracked her down the last few times we were here. She has a routine. Takes her walk and sun like clockwork.

I think we've shocked him, Pip said.

But before I could answer, Pete said Hey! we need some grub, we'd like to take you, Sid ole boy, to Antonio's. Hungry?

Starving, I said, eager to join in because I was already feeling a little guilty I had failed the "exercises."
