My Favorite Color
"You're dripping yellow all over the floor"
Sunflower petals that led through the door...
Back to a March that went in like a lion
That lion persisted, the March was quite sullen
The words of dead poets pervaded my soul
My senses awakened, I heeded their call
Life is a bitter sweet and melancholy song
Akin to a lemon-drop melting on the tongue
I was dismissive at first of my love for this color
The more I gazed upon it, I succumbed to its vigor
Determined and radiant through the harshest of showers
So happy in my raincoat the color of sunflowers
