What would I want from a lover?
What would I need more like...
I wouldn't want a bedroom conquest
I would prefer a colonisation
Amongst some hills perhaps?
Unlike Napoleon I won't divide and conquer.
We'll do it together.
When people say I look scary when I'm actually not
I'd like you to smile and say
"I love you just the way you are".
When people say I am completely mad and weird
I'd like you to whisper in my ear
"You're my madman and later we'll have some insane fun".
When people look at me because I am different
I'd like you to kiss me, so my eyes can say
"I'm different definitely, and in love unlike you".
And when you feel like you can't go on
And feel like you're worth nothing
I'll hold you and say
"You mean more than the world to me".
And together we'll say we're mad and we're in love
Without care for what others say.
