Fleeting

I was told I should write..
About? …about a love that was looming
as jagged rocks from wind swept tides
that once was safe moorings?
No anchor was weighty enough to hold it,
to keep it safe from the sirens that hide
and lure into the heavy fog billowy white.

A love that called to me, yet was ever fleeting
and tossed about mercilessly.
From whence it came was undefined,
and to where it’s thundering emotions will drag
my heart is an unfathomable relentless blight!

Is there cure, or solace, or escape afloat?
or  do I sink to it’s depth
to let it overtake
what it has ravaged and plundered?
If Love is relentless, then it's waves
will take me under…so I wrote...as it's current took me
