New Year thoughts
Sitting here, today the 1st of January 2016,
I can't help but be struck by how different it is from the 1st of January 2015.
I danced and celebrated with people who are not around to dance with me today
So much is different.
For good or ill so much has changed.
A lot transpired over the course of last year.
We lost a lot of good people.
We've celebrated successes and mourned losses.
We've grown, we've changed.
Drifted away from some friends, got closer to some, and made new ones all together
And while everyone is running around dancing and singing "Happy New Year we nor die o",
I can't help but be in a somewhat somber mood, wondering what 2016 is going to bring.
Where am I gonna be on the 1st of January 2017?
No one could have foreseen the events of last year,
and frankly we cannot even begin to fathom what this year has in store for us.
The earth shattering events that could possibly lie in wait.
2015 taught me that every day is a blessing
All we can do is commit it to God, and trust that He has a plan.
Treasure your loved ones, family is everything.
Value relationships while they last. I've learned that time has a nasty habit of changing them.
Don't take people for granted.
Sometimes friends become family, other times people just drift apart for no apparent reason.
Relationships run their course.
That's just the way it is
Have a good 2016 people. Let's make it count.
