Curiosity kills

I wish I could lie to myself,
And finally put these thoughts on a shelf.
Nights like these are daunting.
The memories, oh so haunting.
Do I ever just pop into your head?
The thought of us on my bed?
Holding hands and staring at the roof.
What did I do? Was it me, the goof?
Do you think of how it began?
You a young girl and I, a young man.
I asked for help just to talk to you.
But those thoughts make me feel rue.
Do you remember our first date?
I was stupid to think you were my soulmate.
Do you remember when I met your parents?
My nervousness was very transparent.
Do you even remember my last name?
The one you said you wanted to claim?
I just wonder if you think of me.
Because I think you from time to time.
But most importantly...
I'm just curious if you still love me
