Tsuru

a robe of cranes wraps around my
willow's body following my every move

I gaze through my fingers as they
weave, separating the rain turned to

crystals with hands that flit and
beat silently on a petrified drum

through the constantly shifting air
from which snow will soon drift

and from this heart the meaning of
hieroglyphs hang like wind chimes

pairs of sandals from many souls
line the steps to the entrance of a

monk's hut through which I've passed
uncharted many times treading my feet

upon the earth's curve till I start to
miss oranges again, and a flight of

cranes sails through narrow cloud breaks
as their graceful wings sign in Korean
