lace

There is a labyrinth, a maze of turns
in the quiet, her soul yearns
Crying out, a silent scream
Suffocated in her own dream

A panic, an anxious state
Til his touch arouses her to wake
She can feel him, but she cannot see
The man she longs for him to be

Why wake up to touch a face, who is not your lover
Why arise, for one other
Why arouse, intimate places
For a man who suffocates you like a corset's laces

No I won't wear silk
I won't wear lace
for a man who can't make my heart race

No I won't cause all I see is his face
You're not him
You could never take his place
In all I am, all I confide
In patterns of Lace
pieces of my heart lie

They lie in pieces put together
They lie until they can't remember

where they originated
and when sewn together
Are over-rated

To be a desired piece of cloth
To enhance beauty from pieces lost
Make a bride, feel like royalty
hidden inside you'll never see
The fabric torn or the loose thread
or the tears when she lies in bed
