The Angels are Sleeping
I smell blood,
sour reeking blood
Lugged by the eerie wind
Scouring my numbed face.
Painful streaks of light
Struck my weary eyes.
Heavy racing nimbus,
Black rainbow in the sky!
Strange moaning of the river
Sounds like calling my name
Struggled hard to get up
Dropped flat on the ground again!
Vultures squeak as they rip
the rotting flesh
of my comrades, asleep,
never to wake again.
We were forsaken!
We fought as much but the sworn
help from the heavens
did not reach the earth…
sour reeking blood
Lugged by the eerie wind
Scouring my numbed face.
Painful streaks of light
Struck my weary eyes.
Heavy racing nimbus,
Black rainbow in the sky!
Strange moaning of the river
Sounds like calling my name
Struggled hard to get up
Dropped flat on the ground again!
Vultures squeak as they rip
the rotting flesh
of my comrades, asleep,
never to wake again.
We were forsaken!
We fought as much but the sworn
help from the heavens
did not reach the earth…
