Sibling
I can't quote a night's sky and do justice
to its secrets, yet sibling stars beckon,
they seem so close, pulling veils of modesty
off of each other
while I'm poised under an arc of silence,
its light tethering my gaze
even though time has snuffed them
long before I stood alone in their wake.

Isnt it an amazing thing...we are seeing light from the stars, that took so long to get here, the star irself might no longer exist?

Yes, darling Jennifer, we look up and back into the past where we have been able to see in deepest space where the galaxies have hardly begun to form, so soon after the big bang, while we stand in the present, and our ship takes us into the future as the universe continues to expand.
