YOU LEFT ME HERE

Do you remember the night when your body cracked
and an invisible hand brushed across your flesh,
your hair, your soul, your seeming being,
with a cool breath silently speaking into lucid eyes seeing
that humming silence singing in fearless surroundings
penetrating levels of life and death, the extent
to which you had never experienced until that moment?
It was time to die
A terrifying thought,
even when self induced, a fear still lingers
before those final unknown moments
And yet I felt no fear
Time and life must run its course,
and in that moment I had accepted what was beyond my control
It was time to die
No fear
And yet you left me here
