In This Temple Nay This Lair
In this temple—nay! Within this lair
We open only to despair.
Damned be your “sophisticated” claim
That you may dare to speak our name,
Our own wretched blood we spill,
Fulfills our hungry idols still.
No! Your less-interesting personality
Cannot kill our dark calamity.
Secret lore from these halls doth flow,
Secrets your soft, poor mind can’t know;
Secrets the sane mind must abhor:
This is why we lock the door!
You must return to your peaceful land
To the truths you might understand
We beg you, please now turn away,
Forget what you have seen this day,
Ere the tolling of our silver bell
Leads your mind to our lucid Hell,
Turn away! Hope is not welcome here
Only the flaming fount of fear
Is to us holy, sweet and dear
We pray! Never again come near!
We open only to despair.
Damned be your “sophisticated” claim
That you may dare to speak our name,
Our own wretched blood we spill,
Fulfills our hungry idols still.
