Hades' Lullaby
I am the bread before the starving,
The drink to quench all thirst-
I am the vision of the sightless,
And the balm for every hurt.
I am the path for those who travel,
And the ease for every lust-
I am comfort for the troubled,
And the dream of those who must.
I am mystery without equal,
The catch in lovers' breath-
I am waiting in the shadows,
And I am known as Death.

This is awesome. I know that sounds trite but I mean it. Each line makes sense. Death is the out for hunger, hurt, lust, any number of things. This was a haunting and brilliant way of saying it.
