Dying Rose
does a rose know what it feels like to die
to lose all of its family ties
to wilt up wither and fade away
to be no more upon another day
to feel nothing but the cold
to feel nothing but alone
to never swing in the breeze so gay
without a single care in the day
to sleep lazily at night
for others to behold its wondrous sight
instead this poor rose
knows such great woes
to not feel the light of life
but the sharp edge of a knife
placed now in a vase
for all to admire her case
slowly but surely she will tire
and the lonliness will make her dire
and so she wilt away fade away
and not live to see another day
to lose all of its family ties
to wilt up wither and fade away
to be no more upon another day
to feel nothing but the cold
to feel nothing but alone
to never swing in the breeze so gay
without a single care in the day
to sleep lazily at night
for others to behold its wondrous sight
instead this poor rose
knows such great woes
to not feel the light of life
but the sharp edge of a knife
placed now in a vase
for all to admire her case
slowly but surely she will tire
and the lonliness will make her dire
and so she wilt away fade away
and not live to see another day
