Life in the DIstant Night

Comet or a giant star out in space’s vacuum
To explode in a super violent spasm
Or drawn into the star
By gravity’s irresistible reaction

Either way they will be changed
All their atoms rearranged
A ring of gasses in the night
Or blown back out of the sun in a blinding flash of light

And a black hole will be born from that colossus shining bright
Nothing can escape
A giant’s appetite
Now a blank out in the darkness of the night

Or the building blocks of life
In that flash of blinding light
To drift to distant land in the deadness of the night
And lay upon the sands to wait for the time that’s right

I’m alive
All the time being pulled back into the circle of life
I’m alive
Swirling to an end within the black hole’s giant might

Out in space life comes and goes
We wait our turn on the dirt we know
Replaced on different planets in the inky night
Where life lays low for the time that’s right

But I’m alive
In the end we are all alone
But I’ll survive
The lie we tell ourselves to spin where we all are going
