The pangs of deeply held lust
leads a guy to abandon logic
fiercely seeking a connection
the optimist prevails
Wise to the nuances of seduction
her bare persona disarms
without devoted intention
embedded in her DNA
Clamoring for her singularly directed
erotic advances
I take umbrage in my pen
hoping that my journey home
isn't a solo affair
And for a brief moment
she had me believing in the possibility
I meant something
possibilities to be explored
For I know her list of suitors
necessitates conscious decisions
and so as a last resort
I run to dreams
hoping that reality catches up
