God Saved Me Today (Again)

God saved me a long time ago.
I mean I accepted His offer of Salvation
Via Christ's self-sacrifice on the Cross.
Which is free yet carries with it
The obligation to die Christ's death,
(Rather the willingness to die His death),
His kind of death, along with Him !!
For salvation is not without the Eucharist.
When we eat the bread, drink the wine,
We receive thereby into our own bodies/lives
The Death of Christ(1st Corinthians 11.26;Romans 6.3-5)).

It, Eucharist, is an implicit oath of allegiance to the Cross
And to the Death of the Cross, and by the principle of extension,
It is a commitment to (be willing to) die IN LIKE MANNER.
For what is the highest form of LOVE  -- imitation !!

Being "in Christ" means the willingness,
to suffer and to die a martyr's death,
Whether or not we are actually martyred.
Spiritually, we can ALL die a martyr's death,
For what is a martyr if not he/she who puts
The Cause (some form of righteousness) above self,
Above his sexual, materialistic self,
Above me/myself/I Narcissism .

A martyr, by definition, dies to self, his flesh,
Before he ever (if ever) dies at the executioner's hand.
So Christians are called to be living martyrs,
an oxymoron,as is the term,"living sacrifice" (Romans 12.1).

Salvation is not without the Eucharist,
We eat the bread, drink the wine,
Which stand for "Christ's body broken for you,"(2 Corinthians 11.24)
- the blood being proof of that brokenness -
Thereby receiving into our own lives/bodies
The death of Christ, and His Resurrection as well.
As with Baptism (Romans 6.3-5),so with Communion,
"If we suffer together, we'll reign together"(2 Timothy 212).

Thru Eucharist, an amazing miracle takes place:
the single human body of Christ at Calvary
Has become the collective "BODY OF CHRIST,"  the Church,
Even the whole Church around the whole world,

Eventually becoming the galaxy-filling Church !!
For doesn't Paul say Christ's ultimate objective
is to "Fill all things [with Himself/the Church]" (Ephesians  4.10).
"All things" here would point to the universe.
But I'll settle for just our own Milky Way Galaxy.
(Reaching its stationary stars is much more feasible for us
Than to reach all the galaxies zooming away from us.)

Now for what I had originally planned to say.
Here's how "God saved me today,"
The bottom of my backpack completely opened up,
(I had no idea that the cloth had somehow rotted and gotten torn.)
So the laptop 'puter inside slid out !!
But it did it as i was picking the backpack up from the chair !!
So no harm was done, there was no fall, no impact.

Why hadn't it slid out while the backpack was on my back?
It could have fallen out while i was walking.
But it didn't. Yes, God delivered my 'puter from breaking.
And thru my connection to it, he saved me (from the pain) as well.

PS: being "in Christ" means being in the "Prince of the Martyrs,"
(Doesn't an old hymn call Him that?)
For "Christ is the faithful WITNESS"
which in the Greek is "martyr"(Revelation 1.5; 3.14).
Yes,if Christ is "the Prince of the Martyrs,"
And we are in Him, then we have in us,
The Spirit of Martyrdom "mortifying the deeds
of the body"(Romans 8.13; Colossians 3.5).
To confirm what I'm claiming,
Go to the library and find the "Strong's Concordance"
Look up the word "witness."
A Bible Concordance is a book that lists
All the passages where a word is found.
To the right is a number (of a Greek word)..
You go to the very back of the book, look up the number,
(For "witness" it is 3144 in the Greek lexicon.)
You can see for yourself that the Greek word
For witness is none other than "martyr."
So when John calls Christ "the faithful witness"(Revelation 1.5; 3.14),
He is calling Jesus "the faithful martyr".
So if some hillbilly preacher says, "Christ is not a martyr"
He is wrong, wrong, WRONG.
