Sunday after the storm

In tears I laid before you as id given it my all,
your dark thoughts fight against mine for hours until they find common ground to which to settle,
laying once more together we wake smiling after six or more hours spent so sweetly entwined ,
I rustle your short hair to and fro seeing a grin of pure bliss spread across your lips ,
knowing this is what you need as i kiss you occasionally on the cheek ,
no talking needed just breath and warmth the feeling of non-responsibility for anything else in those moments ,
why say the words aloud when I'm already showing it,
through all odds I'll fight to simply lay beside you and know its what you want ,
a feeling I'll wait for as long as it takes to get back to,
for in this silent romance spoken only by the heat of our bodies and the beat of our hearts there are no brakes
just slow sad periods of absence soon to pass until the next.
