Yellow by the garage door
seeds and parachutes unfurled
ready for hungry finches. and cinnabar,  
.a weed by any name, yet welcome here
where nature has her way.
Exotic plants at garden centres
not welcome by this garage door
locked 'til the yellow flowers fade,
Seeds to be consumed by finches.
now welcome summer songs
praise this common groundsel,
humility and yellow flowers
seeding the earth  without charge,
free as the air to share
with cinnabar and finch.
