The innocence of memories, how beautiful life was through unfiltered eyes.
Thanks Ms. Chi for making us remember the beauty of life :)

So everyone has their special memories
in regards of trees :-).
Oaks are strong and comforting ... Is it still standing?

I was there in April, and she's still there. I climbed her but my old legs wouldn't allow me to jump out of her the way I used to. I youngest daughter wanted no parts of it lol ... She was satisfied to watch me be 10 again.

It's great you saw her again, Lobo. Did you have the same feelings toward her as you had as a young boy? That would be interesting.
I was born in my grandmother's house and it still stands. I still live near to the house but do not dare ask the people who live in it now to have a look at the garden or at the inside of the house. At times I park my car opposite to it and watch it, torn between the wish to knock and look and the wish to keep my childhood memories ...

Re. Childhood friend
Corazon, this reminds me of being interviewed as the featured writer of the week at another place and one of the questions was to describe the best childhood memories........ my response was moments at Belvedere Castle and other great places in Central Park NY. ......
you made me smile with this wonderful piece!

That said interview kicked my thoughts off about childhpood memories, hermana :-). Thank you so much! My first six years (and the happiest) I lived in the house of my grandmother. She had a big garden and among other trees also some apple trees. For me it was heaven on earth and I was more often climbing the crowns than sitting to their feet.Surely it wasn't an entire orchard but hey! I was small :-).
Thank you for sharing your best childhood memories, preciosa. xoxoxo
