"come with me," you said
not a single thought dared enter my head,
no room for excuses
or even doubt
I packed my belongings
and we headed out
"I love you," you said to me
and it felt so right,
so good and pure,
like I deserved you,
I didn't even know you
"it'll be okay," you say
as every tear falls,
you hold me in your arms
and just let me be
broken and ashamed
not worthy of you

a baby came
and I was scared you'd go away
it scared me more

another kid

feeling empty
still I took the leap

we fought our demons and love prevailed

down a bumpy path

and turned you into an enemy,
lost a friend,
I wanted to give up
you didn't want this to be the end,
