LOST

 I’ve lost keys, pens, letters,
Books, the dogs lead, hats,
Gloves, scarves, umbrellas

Almost everything I have ever
Lost and then found again
Has been found in the last
Place I’ve looked
It’s annoying, why
This seems to be a common
Experience shared by many
Viewed as a conundrum
A modern day enigma
There’s really nothing mysterious
We find things in the
Last place we looked
Because when we find what
We are looking for
We stop looking
Simple really
Isn’t it?

As with most rules of this nature
There are always exceptions
I’ve lost my mind quite often
But I have never seen the need
To go look for it, it seems to find
Its own way home
In anger I have lost my shit
Again I have no intention
Looking and hoping to find
I’ve lots my bearings
I’ve lost my way
I’ve lost the plot
I’ve lost my job
Some things are
Better left lost

A long time ago
I lost my virginity
It might be quite
Interesting to spend time
Looking for it
Even more so if I
Was able to find it
