Rainbow Gathering

     The northern hills loom lyrically in windy wild abandon. They rise like hump back whales under Arcadian skies. Huddled hippies gather. They are refugees from capitalism who follow the flow of sandstone in barefoot beatitude. Their pot smoke drifts like incense on the sultry breeze. The sweet scent smells like heaven on this summer’s day. “Welcome home” a young man says between tokes.    
     A beautiful gypsy stops to greet me.  She offers me repast in my lonely trek through life. Berried-bohemian Belles chime their core-sets. Their sunflower smiles blossom, leaving petals strewn in my soul. Tribal Utopians sit in a ring round sacred fire. I join them in the circle of life.
     Vegetarian casserole nourishes my hunger and spices my taste buds. I turn Shamanic in the company of squatters in this place of magic. I confess my psychedelic adventures in the mental hospital. I am among friends who understand my flight from the gray reality which most call home. We eat together in the bond of love. Only the birds and we are privy to our conversation.  
     A young maiden floats out her hand like cloud for me to touch. I hold her softness in my fingers and kiss the lifeline of her palm. Her misty eyes speak tears of joy and sorrow. She leans like a doe and plants a raspberry tart on my cheek. My heart trembles like my first kiss on some dusty road of love long ago.
     The rangers spy the merry hipsters.  They trace their trails with voyeur eyes, peeking into paradise. Signs point to a tea house tucked deep in the forest. My quest takes me on the road to Bohemia. I pass the stoners who light up like angels wary of the wardens in the woods. Yet this herb is the myrrh, whose aroma blesses this Cathedral of pine.
     I walk the path in reverence for the land. My dream blossoms into rosy cheeked nymphs and bearded men. I arrive at the oasis of tea, welcomed by ladies who blow cannabis kisses in fragrant smoke rings.
