Evening Star     edited 19 0ctober 2015

When next you see an evening star
(clouds dispersed and fading sun)
night jars join  retreating day
 and  coming night,when moons
shall light the blue-black sky,
look into the night and think who
shares this view. a view as ancient
past time, unchanged  pictures on the wall,
save for cracks and  peeling gilt,
pigments  shrinking in the stale
air and sterile gaze of incomprehension.
