Push Past The Ache
I hate misery kissed your cheek
changing your smile into a grimace,
and all that’s left behind....
is shard emptiness breathing in a soul, already wounded
….and I hate life has continuity with strife
striking you with pain strong enough to bring down the goliath’ in you
your david’ size struggles are much smaller than you think
don’t allow the light within to perish
don’t give in and surrender to darkness
even the Sun with its majestic power,
has had its shine taken by the tiniest clouds...
only to return with a brighter glow
push past the ache
...and rise up
~Rain~

Crim, there are so many poets on DU at this very moment who are hurting. I had no idea just how many. It's funny, I read something yesterday and I know in my heart the root of it's existence, yet it left me completely numb. That's a good thing! I've learned to harness my strength and condition myself to not allow my emotions to dictate my actions. 'push past the ache', beautiful! Xo

Re. Push Pass The Ache
These words deliver a deep message (someone I once knew could always speak light into darkness with the profundity and wisdom of words) You have penned a very hopeful and wise message to the fallen.........."We fall down but we get up" comes to mind I think my fav portion of this was:
"...don’t allow the light within to perish
don’t give in and surrender to darkness
even the Sun with its majestic power,
has had its shine taken by the tiniest clouds...
only to return with a brighter glow"
Brilliant words to live by Rain. Just remember that sometimes the angry rumblings of distant storms are a precedent to healing. If healing can be........

(Someone you once knew?) My condolences! I’ve always thought healing came from a peaceful place, while Anger only perpetuate pain. I’d be ecstatic if my words brought the slightest bit of comfort to someone today. Your commentary speaks hope, thanks Sheldon! ~jezebel

Rain, my cherished Friend....
The inspiration within your ink, has touched me...soul deep---pushing past the overwhelming pain...and then finding the inner strength to rise above it !
"don't allow the light within to perish
don't give in and surrender to the darkness..."
the wonderful wisdom of these lines has helped to rekindle a spark in my hope-lite! (and at this time, i am most grateful for this....)
Thank you for penning such a positive piece of encouragement ! xo

Misery is a French kisser with a snake for a tongue... the bigger they are, the harder they fall, and so it was for Goliath, felled by David's stone. Overcast skies hide how high up one must rise to feel the warmth of the sun as it sets on a dark horizon. Rain clouds forecast a flood that can drowned a world deflated into flatlands... without wings, even angels fall...

David battled something much bigger than he, yet he stood victorious. He didn't lay down, he didn't give up.Just like life and all the problems and burdens we face, they seem much bigger, but we can overcome if we just keep fighting. That's the essence of this ink babe. Keep fighting!

rainy lady, usually i'd tuck my balls & not question you but....
1. push "pass", could be my reading funny but should it mayhap be "past"
?
[&]
2. is there a "that" missing in s1 l1?
... it's just imho & ya know where to tell me to stick my nose if i'm poking it where it don't belong :)
*
anyhoooooos
this is such a beautiful encouragement; one can feel the warmth breaking through an overcast sky...
"and all that’s left behind....
is shard emptiness breathing in a soul, already wounded"
^^^^^
struck me so hard. spirits weren't meant to be pin cushions for stained glass fragments of better days
... as always, you leave such stunning impressions
bowing to your pen

dancedoll, the grammatical error/usages of pass' was totally my retard brain cells being active. So glad you brought that to my attention. :) And no, there's no 'that' missing in the first line. I actually like the flow without it.

This is fine, inspiring work, Rain. Empowering but gentle.
" even the Sun with its majestic power,
has had its shine taken by the tiniest clouds...
only to return with a brighter glow"
Setbacks may seem insurmountable but don't last in the Sun's light.
"push past the ache
...and rise up"
I might adopt this as a personal slogan or mantra, if you don't mind. I've been saying "crimson and clover, over and over" but that doesn't always work. I'll keep pushing in any case. Thanks Rain!
