Dewars May Cause Dreams of Burning.

***

tonight I dance with my shadow

the amber drink, half gone

my lipstick forms a heart on the rim
of the thick glass

*
I remember his breath
summer in my mouth

at the tiny bar candles spill all
over themselves and onto the floor

shameless

he writes letters on my skin with candle cum
the sting...the shiver ...he slowly peels off his name
..my mind and body unravel

then the cool ice.  slipped inside someplace
hotter than any candle...the command to hold

the thrill of him waiting for me to follow through

the table against my back
sipping dewars from his palm

more, always more

later:

quickly I lick the first tear
pretend it never fell

he said he would call
that was hours ago.
