Broken Fate
Lately it’s getting so hard
To take things back
Chasing dreams
Yet cannot see
When I am faced with all I need
Still always looking past
The very things
I love…
Tell me
Is this betrayal?
Being so far away from you?
Thinking maybe it was written in the stars
Just nothing left for us
Only crumpled up memories
Thrown upon a fading flame
Still hoping for that “someday”
Words, we never forget
So we become lost along the way
Thinking that I’m holding on to grudges
Yet a part of me just needs you here
To let me know I still care
Don’t need another reason to be gone
Now looking for ways to fly
Back into your arms
Seems so easy to say
Maybe we should just go our separate ways
But when I see you face to face
A little piece of me still thinks of possibilities
Just can’t leave all that so suddenly
Way too many days with love's embrace
In the past looking toward you for all those answers
But now I think it’s time for me to decide
Our broken fate

I always write my poems to be open to interpretation. That's the goal at least, lol... There is always a deeper meaning that is more for me.
For this poem it's about deciding if you want to stay with someone, but knowing it will be hard to stay with them because of circumstances.
