Hello, all! I have returned. This is not my usual submission, I know, but this is my first attempt at writing a triolet. It is common in Steampunk poetry and consists of eight lines of iambic tetrameter. I will be using this in a short story I am writing for my science fiction and fantasy class. I probably will not keep my current title (even though it ironically also has eight syllables). I am not quite sure if I like it yet.

I just recently stumbled onto this style of poetry. I never heard of it until now either. I am taking a science fiction and fantasy course that is based around the style of Steampunk, so are literature is either written in the Victorian period or with the idea of the Victorian period incorporated. I don't care too much for the science fiction, but I am all for reading the poetry. A lot of it coincides with my British Literature II class, which makes things easier to remember.
