Living my life inside a fever dream
Where every twist and turn is not what it seems
Peace can be found in bitter pieces
Solace forged in the last of a species

Gravestone rubbings on tattered parchment
"Til death do us part," such sweet sentiments
Reserved for those who wish upon a star
Unburdened with accompanying scars

But devilment never felt so divine
Easing the grief frozen somewhere in time

I burn for you, the fire inside
Smolders in ruins
The misery is mine
Brimstone fails to kill the pain
Until there's nothing more to take

Dredging the way through twisted fever dreams
Full of those Lovecraft nightmares and demon screams
Bleeding the truth from pus-filled lesions
Barring ears from the laughter of legions

Emerald absinthe drowning laments
Damning the names of God and Baphomet
Jesus wept at the sight of scarlet art
Forever burdening His stillborn heart

But devilment never felt so divine
Easing the grief frozen somewhere in time

I burn for you, the fire inside
Smolders in ruins
The tragedy is mine
Brimstone fails to kill the pain
Until there's nothing more to take

Maimed in self-sacrifice
Lacerations inside burial chambers
Seems to suffice

Memories of gallows
Lashed to the stake before baying crowds
Seems so hallow

My existence inside fever dreams
And all of the tortures that it seems to bring
Contempt remaining without reason
Condemning the world throughout the seasons

Languid in the pits of my penance
I'm follow seeking some recompense
Littered with jagged rocks and broken glass
Barefoot and bleeding on this goddamn path

But devilment never felt so divine
Easing the grief frozen somewhere in time

I burn for you, the fire inside
Smolders in ruins
The agony is mine
Brimstone fails to kill the pain
Until there's nothing more to take
