- - - THRICE CURSED A TIME - - -
Autumn winds bring the promising chill
When the skies turn cold and grey
Her voice echoes in the shadows
Bringing me back to yesterday
Vivid thoughts drowning in whiskey
Blur lines of fiction and fact
Sweet kisses and blood soaked comforts
Memories slip between the cracks
Still her scent lingers
A reminder of days long since dead
Once upon a time
Our days seemed to pulse in endless bliss
Twice upon a crime
When tragedy struck with reaper's grips
Thrice cursed a time
The scar burns, courtesy of her kiss
I was alive, now I am dead
Remember the words that were said
"When the stone in my heart
Leaves me cold once again
Not even death can keep us apart"
I sing her song at her tombstone
Whispering in the forest
Her ghost lingering on my path
Tethering me to my promise
I will seek no condolences
No well wishes or scriptures
I will seek no companionship
When the flames consume her picture
Still her face lingers
A reminder of days long since dead
Once upon a time
Our days seemed to pulse in endless bliss
Twice upon a crime
When tragedy struck with reaper's grips
Thrice cursed a time
The scar burns, courtesy of her kiss
I was alive, now I am dead
Remember the words that were said
"When the stone in my heart
Leaves me cold once again
Not even death can keep us apart"
Her wisp of hair taking flight
As a raven in the night
I hope she finds someone to love
Someone like me
Once upon a time
Our days seemed to pulse in endless bliss
Twice upon a crime
When tragedy struck with reaper's grips
Thrice cursed a time
The scar burns, courtesy of her kiss
I was alive, now I am dead
Remember the words that were said
"When the stone in my heart
Leaves me cold once again
Not even death can keep us apart"
