Uncommon Mistakes

Anger brings motion unequal to what’s at stake
Uncommon reactions bring action that leads to uncommon mistakes
Not looking before you leap
Brings you to places you’d rather not see
And anger melts into shaking hands and sweaty feet

You say to yourself what have I done
It’s too late to walk away and too late to run
Your handiwork lays at your feet
In a broken mess of blood and torn up meat
And you’re unable to speak a word in your own defense

How do you put this into words that the others will understand?
Who do you ask for help when you’ve already made your move?
And what would they say if they saw you in this bloody pool
What do you do with your anger a melting pool within your soul?
What have you done to yourself?

Anger has played its tricks on you
And left you with no escape from this place
Your uncommon reactions have left you with no hope at all
Oh how the once mighty in mind will fall
And in which direction might you fall from way up on high

A bullet on a fast and dangerous chase
A guilty plea to surefire case
One night left alone with a mighty rope to hang your pretty head
You didn’t know just what was at stake
It’s the end of the action that you didn’t know that you would take

What will you do?
What have you done?
Where will you end up?
And what is to come?
Say goodbye to everyone
