Burning, tearing
The confines of my soul
This demon inside confides
Lost secrets of eternity
A pound of flesh evenly
Distributed eternally
Prophets of damnation
The collectors gain, wickedly
Choirs once thought heavenly
Embrace the shadows, splendidly
Once upon a time, face the day
Make a deal just to numb the pain
I can feel the beast in my bones
And know I'll never go back home
The devil did offer to me
Lonely paths I'd never have seen
A verse of a great secret song
I don't know where it all went wrong
The demon inside reminds
Of the lost past, eventually
Of goddamned sovereignty
For a god who had seemingly
Gained profits from damnation
I paved the way horrifically
The thief of virginity
Darkness consumes lucidity
Once upon a time, face the day
Make a deal just to numb the pain

Burning bridges willingly
My devil sneers maliciously
Puppets of damnation
Are raptured bewitchingly
Torments disability

You are too kind, dearest Devlin. Everyone has an angel on one shoulder and a demon but seems, at least here at DU, that the demon is the dominant one.
