The Faitful
Her angel wings
Wraps around my sins
Can I ever be the faithful?
Her scarlet fires
Poison my desires
Can I ever be the faithful
In the name of the chosen birth
We struggle to calculate our worth
In comparison to those who work
With no regard for your present earth
In your snarky attitude
Reveals the shadowy moods
Can I ever be the faithful
There is discovery still
Through courage and will
Can I ever be the faithful?
Wraps around my sins
Can I ever be the faithful?
Her scarlet fires
Poison my desires
Can I ever be the faithful
In the name of the chosen birth
We struggle to calculate our worth
In comparison to those who work
With no regard for your present earth
In your snarky attitude
Reveals the shadowy moods
Can I ever be the faithful
There is discovery still
Through courage and will
Can I ever be the faithful?

That's a striking contrast between the angel wings and scarlet fires. Sounds like a lover or muse who is inspiring one moment then toxic the next. The snarky attitude could be glib sarcasm, and the shadowy moods become hard to understand, accept and deal with. But you do your best, questioning the merits of sticking with her or just letting her take off. Is she faithful on her part, loyal to you? Got me thinking again DPW, dammit. I don't mean to nitpick but you left out the "h" in the title. Otherwise really fine work!

Thank you for your thoughtful comment, Crow. There is the contrast as you mention and some days its strong and other days I find myself looking elsewhere. I did not realize the "h" was missing in the title. But I thought maybe it has a nice play on Fateful but reads like Faithful. What do you think?

That is the question, isn't it? Too hard to answer when "faithful" is viewed so differently by so many people. I think the real question becomes, can I be true to myself somewhere along that pursuit,..and unfortunately, most people will not like the answer they get.

It is a question of integrity of the self. And as much as I strive for it, I find there are things I am split on. To some degree I have accepted this about myself. At times I want to resolve the double POV.

I'd say.. all are capable of being faithful, is effortless once and *if soul mate is found.
most settle vs the search..
as Crow mentions.. contrast in first & second stanza could hint at her infidelity as well.
love it when lines kick start my brain this way..
"Her angel wings
Wraps around my sins
Can I ever be the faithful? "
~omfg.. such a pic with three lines.. sinfully articulated..very*
"In your snarky attitude <~~ kudos fer pulling of 'snarky'.. likes it ;)
Reveals the shadowy moods
Can I ever be the faithful"
~this being the other side/stopper of your 'faithful' lines. the attitude is a major factor, both ways.
still sayin.. so easy when just One attracts all in a body. ;) *stubborn virgo.
great ponder on the topic.. shiny goodntes, mdears,

Thank you darksighs,
I have wanted to settle, but I don't think my heart is satisfied with that. It reaches for deep intimacy and at the same time sees the world as its playground.
I am glad this was a thinker. I was more in the way of just contemplative.
Thank you for your comment dear :)

Oh my.. .my heart received heaviness here,
somehow, must say..if one isn't made for it
do NOT play the flesh of her at all, because
it leaves nothing but pierced sides & hearts
with red stained tears...
Beautifully conveyed overall & there is nothing
like honesty, just make sure she knows it..
SPARE HER FROM HELL & SELF CONDEMNATION ..

Thank you Howling for your comment and read. I hear what you are saying. Honesty can save a lot of havoc. That much I know.
