Monkey & Moon
The monkey on the bookcase
peeking blind at me;
monkey,
monkey,
monkey,
As the moon it whimpers a love sigh,
and listens to my longing.

Re. Monkey & Moon
I've got a bronze monkey on my mantelpiece, one
hand holding his head as he stares at the book in
his other, a study in bemusement he looks..:)

Such a thoughtful gesture :)
On the bookshelf,
as if he’s discovered something wonderful,
mine, with a look of delight and smiling eyes
only sits there holding his banana.

There is a magnetic energy in certain inanimate objects that draws our silent attention to them. Well expressed.

There are lots of books. Too many. And I want to read them all at once. The moon does not care how long I take to read them, but it will not wait for me either.

Nice analogy. I don't like digital clocks, I like analogue clocks; they have much more personality. I like the idea of slowing down. Its about time. There's never enough time until you take the time. My row of monkeys on the shelf, I think they're sweet.
