The End of Days

 Humanity is nothing more than a rash
Currently a mild but ever more itching irritant
Our presence on this planet is time limited
The more harm we do the quicker our demise
We will not be allowed to destroy ourselves
We certainly will not be allowed to destroy this planet
We ignore the Earth’s awesome power at our peril
We think we are so wise and clever, so, so superior
But the day is surely coming, I’m glad it won’t be long
When unexpectedly Nature ear marks us for extinction
This will be the price for not trying to live in harmony
The punishment for not attempting to care for the planet
It’s what we deserve for living like a parasitical hoard
We have forgotten that the earth is a living system
An organism that will defend itself if threatened
It will naturally filter us out or use deadly force
It has already started working out how it will do it
AIDS, Ebola, medicine resistant flu and flesh eating bugs
It will come up with something, we just simply cannot cure
It might even resort to a world wide cataclysm
Super volcanoes, earthquakes, a world wide tsunami
Armageddon will be the end of human life as we know it
The planet will heal and repair itself back to normal
There will be not trace of humanity, none at all
Nothing to say we were here before, not a whisper
The world’s new beginning – The earth minus humans
Some days that very thought, makes me smile
