- - - DARKEST HUES - - -

Your canvas remains blank

All that is left, ashes and dust
A fleeting reminder of days long past
The death of love, fire and trust
Consigned to the tomb
And torn from my grasp

These eyes still see beauty that was
Radiant and pure 'neath those nightly stars
As fragile as winter's last gust
Laced with poisoned lies
And covered in scars

The grey is true at the end of days
And here I'll stay still awaiting you
Beneath the moon, reserved, cold and grey
Your touch I crave in the darkest hues
Today

Reflection in the canvas

A jagged line across pristine vistas
In the grip of a twisted clue
At the vast precipice I had kissed her
A lovestruck fool
And lonely muse

She cast my heart into lashing torments
Labor alone in the darkness
Her eyes remain pitiless and distant
Lasting sadness
Inside madness

Colors come to mind
Swirling in chaos
Born from thoughts
Gagged and torn
Apart in burial pits

The grey is true at the end of days
And here I'll stay still awaiting you
Beneath the moon, reserved, cold and grey
Your touch I crave in the darkest hues
Today
