Sacred Contracts I: Birthright

"It is your birthright to discover your
sacred contract. it will guide you to
find your divine destiny." ~ Caroline Myss

Endings taught me young to gracefully
release accumulations filling my lungs:
Countries. Animals. Friends. Schools.
Planes. Interstates. Cities. Lovers.

My DNA  blooms like drought resistant
Blood Flowers among the removed.

I am the sole survivor of our experience
Now. Each verse penned from a memory
whose aged meaning has dispersed:
The earth, the water, the air, words.

The nightingale is an old language:
A faithful 2:00 AM metronome.

History didn't want to re-create
Light formed into bone.  But man
Wouldn't be defeated by so many
Ego-failed attempts to magnetize.

Yet the gravitational pull of the solar
Plexus is resisted through the mind.

Even so, our DNA is weaved in each
Channeled stanza so easily erased
for a new future. We learn eventually;
Sacred contracts can't be breached.

Anymore than water can be replaced
or a birthright remain unclaimed.
~
