No denial that his philosophy was controversial but we also can't deny the fact that he was way ahead of his time. Glad you liked this piece Dartford, always good to see you.

Interestingly enough, I watched Ex-Machina few months ago and I was blown away how good the movie was, rich with texture (quiet yet subtle) thought provoking. This subject in the comp tied in very well to thoughts that were already brewing in my mind.
Thanks for taking time to read and comment John, I"m glad you think highly of it.

This has been assembled with grace, the language slots together line after line as if you are building a wall - if only to knock it down. The adjectives throughout are not predictable. Thank you for this read, it was impressive. (I hope that you win.)

I've always been interested in the power of science and how far can we go in playing 'god' and if we start manipulating genes in 'building' perfect humans, where will it leave art, creation, individualization, uniqueness in character and personality and then there's the other aspects of good vs. evil, in creating the 'good' do we become evil...so many thoughts on this subject.
Thank you Poppy for taking interest and reading this, i truly appreciate it, and yes the choice of adjectives were key in shaping this poem to represent the underlying thoughts.

Scary stuff, presented harmoniously tied in such "choice" cuts!!!
These are the stuff my nightmares bring.
but I say....as far as animals, had I the means, I would give a cat wings, to watch him hound the birds on even terms.
I adore this Vee, so very smooth

Nature plays a fair hand already with natural selection (darwinism theory) but then how far science will take us to further 'improve' human lives is the question. The statistics show that there will be lesser population since it becomes more of a controlled environment.
It is all scary stuff Soul, especially when we think of in terms of 'the new and improved' version of us can control us, whatever the hell 'us' becomes.
Wings to cats..:) not a bad idea, i'm all for it, and thank you very much for finding a smooth place in your RL for this poem.

Like everything Vee....
with " man" at the helm- constructing/ destructing- if there is a way for things to get twisted in its worse form
let man tinker.
No matter what I say in kid, messing with nature is quite abhorrent to me.
Let Mother make the changes she sees fit.
man doesn't know where to draw a line.

Love Nietzsche and his ensuing controversy. It made one think enough to debate. Great write.

If I had to pick one fav philosopher he is certainly one that left a huge impression on me early on. I'm always up for good thoughtful discussions Ahavati and I'm very glad to see that you enjoy it as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and leave your thoughts. Pleasure to meet you and thanks for the subscription.

I want to say that this is a commentary on religion...not sure even after 5 readings. I like this passage "“even the clumsiest human is perfectly
shaped to destroy”" perhaps referring to our place in the food-chain or animal kingdom. The "ship shaped world" passage evoked images of the nave of a church. I love the way you write, Vee because I enjoy, more than anything perhaps, to think deeply. Brava!

ah GW, i'm pleasantly impressed by your keen eye on details lol That's awesome!
yes on ship shaped reference and yes on the food chain :)
About 6 yrs ago i got into a conversation with a friend who was from Nepal and he tried to teach me that plants 'bleed' and try to repair themselves when cut or wounded and my limited understanding back then tried to dismiss him that plants do not have any neuro system to feel pain. But with anything it takes time for our perception and understanding to catch up with facts and now i realize that the world is a dome and one has to sacrifice to give life to the other, the formula is pretty simple. The only complexity that comes in is when humans feel empathy, thats when things get confusing.
I'm quite honored with your feedback, what a great compliment from one writer to another, thank you so much GW!

I enjoyed thie poem as a piece of poetry;however my aquaintance with Nietzsche is brief and only via the commentaries of others.I am an optimist as regards our species as I am with other animals.

The poem itself should be able to hold on its own whether a reader has a prior knowledge on the subject. I feel that is something a writer should be aware of when writing so it's interpreted broadly not necessarily specifically.
Thank you Mr. Kexby for reading and liking it.
